We are conducting ground investigation work in and around Brighouse as part of the A641 Bradford - Brighouse - Huddersfield project.

We will also collect core samples from eight sites in central Brighouse. The core samples will help us to better understand the make up of the material below the surface.

What work are we doing in Brighouse?

We are conducting ground radar surveys in and around Brighouse. The surveys will help us to investigate underground services and the ground conditions. This information will help us to develop the plans for the project.

We will also collect core samples from eight sites in central Brighouse. The core samples will help us better understand the make up of the material below the surface.

Why are we doing this work?

The surveys will help provide the detail needed to prepare the designs for the project.

How long will the work take?

We are conducting ground radar surveys from 9 - 23 May 2022. 

We are collecting core samples from eight sites in central Brighouse, from 6 - 20 June 2022.

All work will be carried out during the day.

Where will we be working?

We will be working in 8 locations in around Brighouse.

The precise locations of the ground investigation are subject to change depending on the results of the ground radar surveys.

Will the work be noisy?

There will be some noise and vibrations. The work will be coordinated by a professional contractor team who will ensure that there is minimal disruption. There will be monitoring equipment on site to ensure safety.

Will roads be closed?

A section of Bridge Road is to be temporarily closed so we can carry out work on boreholes BH03 and BH04.

Will it have an impact on my property/business?

There may be noise and vibrations from the survey equipment. The contractor team will keep noise and vibrations to a minimum. They have assured us that there will not be any impact on properties nearby.

Monitoring equipment will be in place to ensure there are no adverse impacts on surrounding properties.

We will cordon off areas where work will carried out to ensure the safety of pedestrians.

Work will be carried out during the day to make sure there is no disruption for residents in the evening.

Will I still be able to access my property/business?

Yes. There will be traffic management measures around the areas of work and a temporary road closure (section of Bridge Road). This should not limit access to your property.

Will there still be access for emergency vehicles?
